What is FODS?

 

Friends of Dinting School (FODS) is our dedicated Parent-Teacher Association (PTA) and a registered charity (Charity Number 1049231). It’s powered by a passionate group of volunteers who care deeply about making a difference in the lives of every child at Dinting C of E Primary School. FODS raises vital funds to enrich the school experience — providing extra resources, exciting opportunities, and memorable experiences that go beyond the classroom. FODS aim is to build a welcoming, inclusive community where every child feels supported and every family feels they belong

 

 

What Does FODS Do?

 

Every year, Friends of Dinting School (FODS) brings our school community to life with a fantastic line-up of fundraising events and unforgettable experiences! From fun-filled family activities to creative school-wide celebrations, FODS organises something for everyone — all in support of Dinting C of E Primary School. Some of the highlights include:

  • Themed discos
  • Christmas festivities
  • Clothing collections
  • World book day celebrations 
  • Chocolate bingo night
  • Sponsored jog
  • Family festival and colour party 

 

Through these events, our aim is to spark joy, build lasting memories, and bring our school community closer together all while raising vital funds to support our children’s learning and growth.

Our annual fundraising efforts play a vital role in enriching the lives of our pupils and strengthening the Dinting C of E Primary School community. 

 

Thanks to the generosity and support of our school community, we’ve been able to fund a wide range of initiatives that make a real difference. In recent years, your support has helped us to:

  • Support the building of a new & permanent solid forest school structure
  • Water bottles for each class
  • Funding towards the coaches to take each class on an educational trip/visit.
  • Funding towards new IT equipment

 

Who Can Join FODS?

 

FODS is proudly supported by a wonderful mix of parents, grandparents, aunts, uncles, and friends of the children at Dinting C of E Primary School. But we’re always looking for more helping hands because without volunteers, many of our events and resources simply wouldn’t be possible.

If you’d like to get involved, we’d love to hear from you! Whether you can spare a few hours, contribute ideas or just lend a hand occasionally, every bit of support makes a big difference. The more volunteers we have, the lighter the load and the more amazing opportunities we can create for our children and school community.

Meet the FODS Committee

Our committee works closely with the Headteacher, Mrs. Elliot, to help strengthen the school community and ensure all our activities follow the appropriate policies and procedures. Together, we aim to create a safe, inclusive, and enriching activity accessible for every child and family at Dinting C of E Primary School.

 

Our current committee members include:
